Shawn Milne (Navigators) attacked from the break to win the big purse. Milne broke away with Rahsaan Bahati (TIAA-CREF) and Jackson Stewart (KodakGallery-Sierra Nevada) at the half-way point of the race. With 10 laps to go Bahati crashed in heavy rains. With the break down to 2, Milne attacked Stewart through a corner with 1/2 lap to go. He got a gap and was able to stay away.
HealthNet was missing from the top 20. Not sure what is up with that. Maybe they are saving energy for the Tour of Utah. Keep an eye on Milne, he is young and has great potential.
The womens race was won in a field sprint by Tina Pic (Colivita). Her team executed a perfect leadout for the sprinter. It was a long sprint with played to Pic's advantage.
